Market Demand Rises For East African Fabric Kitenge + Trending Styles
Recently there has been a rise in demand for East African’s pattern fabric Kitenge. The name Kitenge was derived from the Swahili word Kitengele, the Kitenge, also known as Chitenge. Initially, women used the Kitenge as a wrap and a baby carrier. But as time went by, the fabric usually printed in multiple colors and patterns became a favorite for people attending ceremonies such as weddings. The Kitenge holds some significance in the different cultures in Eastern African.
