PRESS STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT, QUEENS CONNECT AFRICA Advocating For Free and Fair Pageant In Nigeria

Face of LaVille Afrique 2016/2017 Queen |
Please, I want to ask what you mean by "Free" in the statement #IsupportFreeandFairPageant?
And this was my simple answer.
Free simply means not selling of the crown.
There's nothing bad about pageantry in Africa, its simply one of the greatest channel to empower young men and women to becoming a more useful tool of positive impact in the world around them. But its a pity, some desperados in the modeling industry especially in this part of Africa (Nigeria) sees this as a yardstick to take advantage of #OurYoungGirls by sweet talking them to bed and even collecting huge money from them without fulfilment of promises. Some simply sell the crown and car to the winner even before the pageant without the knowledge of the rest of the contestants hence making them escorts to the pageant camp when they are not escort police.
Its time for all these to stop, yes! We can have #FreeAndFairPageants in Nigeria, you as a pageant organizer can be fair with your pageant and still make all the money, without using our girls to warm your beds or selling them to the men for sponsorship.
We are tired of negative comments about pageantry/modeling from all Nigerian citizens and the proper cleansing of the same is the hands of you and I.
This is why the entire body of the #QueensConnectAfrica is advocating this peaceful campaign
#IamQCAiSupportFreeAndFairPageantry
Thank you😊

Yes it's really time, we need a functional body to help in scrutinizing pageantry in Africa as a whole.
