Now it is confirmed: Miss Universe 2016 will happen in 2017, in the Philippines

Miss Universe national directors have received an e-mail from the MUO confirming that the 2016 edition of the pageant will take place in the Philippines, in January of 2017. Candidates must arrive in Manila on January 13th. The final event will happen on January 30th (in Manila), which will still be the 29th in the USA (in the Philippines people will watch it eating breakfast).

It´s the 3rd time the Philippines, a country passionate about beauty contests, will host the competition. The first was in 1974 (photo), and the second in 1994. Pia Wurtzbach, the current Miss Universe from the Philippines, will crown her successor at home.

The candidates are supposed to visit some important tourist attraction in this beautiful southeast Asian country. See a bit of what Philippines can offer to its visitors:
