The Miss Venezuela 2016 pageant will be held on Thursday, October 6th, choosing the country’s representatives to Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth 2017. Although local media states that the Venezuelan representative to Miss World 2016 is coming out from this same event, the organization has not confirmed nor denied anything.
Another rumour is that the organization might have appointed one of its former titleholders to compete in the international event to be held in Washington DC in December.
Rumours about the situation of the Miss World franchise started when the Miss Venezuela Organization issued a statement announcing that Mister Venezuela Renato Barabino would not participate in Mister World (held last July) due to the high costs of currency exchange and travel in Venezuela. However, the fact that his female counterparts are competing internationally with no problems, raised questions among local journalists and fans wondering about the relations between Miss Venezuela and Miss World Limited.
