Miss Africa USA, Frances Udukwu hosts Press Brunch in Nigeria to announce NGO



 

Reigning Queen, Miss Africa USA: Frances Udukwu hosted the press to an intimate brunch at Scratch and Social in Victoria Island Lagos.

At the brunch, Frances discussed with the press about her just launched Non-Profit Organization The Lead Girl Foundation which aims to assist women and girls ages 18-35 across Africa and women of color in the Diaspora with becoming financially independent through entrepreneurship and vocational skills training.
According to Miss Frances, The Lead Girl Foundation envisions a world where women and girls have equal opportunities, as well as capital, skill-set and network necessary to become financially independent, resulting in a more secure future.

The Organization has four core focus:
-Vocational Skills Training Program (Africa)
-Enterprise Development Program (Diaspora & Africa)
-Mentoring Woman in Business Program (Africa & Diaspora)
-Code School for formerly incarcerated (Diaspora)
Miss Frances Udukwu believes Women empowerment is a smart investment – “Financial independence gives women choices and enables women spend more on their families, drive growth in their economies and inspire others in their communities.
Currently in Nigeria to begin work with select project sites in Enugu, The first stop being Holy Rosary College, a university tour and an interactive session with female executives of the Student Union Government in Enugu.
Her goal is to utilize her platform as the reigning Miss Africa USA to empower young women as herself, to reach as far as their dreams can go, knowing that an empowered woman results in an empowered and inspired community.
The Lead Girl Foundation is based in Enugu, Nigeria with reach across Africa.
