Exclusive Interview with Queen Evelyn Chucks TNP Queen 2016
LAM: Hi Evelyn, thanks for the interview
Thanks for having me here
LAM: Tell the audience about Miss Evelyn Chucks.
My name is evelyn chuks, I am 19 yrs old, an undergraduate, I come from the family of four and am the last child of my parents.
LAM: How was your journey becoming The Nigerian Princess 2016?
My journey towards becoming The Nigerian Princess wasn't an easy one. I wasn't an expert, so you can tell how diligently I had to work harder than every other person whom were professionals to be here.
LAM: What are you most looking forward too?
Well, the very thing I'm most looking forward to is a fulfilled reign and a hand over that will be missed by my organisation.
LAM: What got you into pageantry?
Ordinary passion coupled with the need to better lives. So I thought pageantry would yield such a platform for me to better my life and that of the people in the society I live in.
LAM: What was it like to win The Nigerian Princess 2016?
It was unbelievable. The same feeling I felt when I was announced the winner is the same feeling I'm still having. It's such a huge opportunity for me to be here I swear. A platform craved for by 100s of participants and I ended up as number 1. I still feel someone should pinch me from my dreams.
LAM: What was your family's reaction?
My family was and are still great full to God almighty and the people that has pushed me to get this far, friends and wellwishers.
LAM: Tell me how much your life has changed since you won?
Oh I like that! It has changed tremendously. I am now engrossed with being a better person. Wearing good outfits, dressing more properly, talking affluently, writing proposals right now. Meeting people I wouldn't have met ordinarily and many more. The financial upliftment too from one of our sponsors placing us on a monthly salary.
LAM: What was the hardest part about your journey from when you started as a contestant?
Well! It wasn't that hard apart from my good sleep. Well it was worth it, colourful experience, meeting and making new friends and unforgettable memories.
LAM: Have you ever been a victim of Rape or witness or come in contact with a Rape victim? If yes, what did you do to the perpetrator(s) or what was your reaction?
If no, what will you do if you encounter such?
Rape is something I would offer prayers just not to be a victim of. The thought of forceful sex, bruises and the stigma from other people alone wouldn't let you live. You'd want to stop existing. I know all of these because I've come across a victim before. Well, what I'll do should someone report that to me, I'd call on security personnel to deal with the criminal and see if the victim can be rehabilitated, taught and advised to live life like nothing happened but take safety & security consciousness serious.
LAM: How do you intend to use your Title to "Break the Silence"?
As The Nigerian Princess 2016 Winner, I would try to see how I can enlarge the scope of my pet project to cover all problems facing the society in my little way.
LAM: Rate your performance on a scale of 1-10
I will rate that on an 8. Because I wasn't entirely, all- rounded and perfect.
LAM: You're happy with the way you did?
Yes I'm happy but I thought I should have made the judges stand on their feet for me in particular... Hahaha. Only kidding! But I'm happy with my performance cause that's why I'm here.
Thank you once again...
LAM wishes you a successful and wonderful reign.
